In late 1974 I was using what was considered a discount broker named Edwards & Hanly. As I recall you had to make about a half a point on a $15 stock just to cover the commission. So if I bought $80,000 worth of a $15 stock the commission would have been about $2700. I don't know what they would have charged for 80,000 shares of a one dollar stock. So if your memory is long enough all of these commissions start to sound like a bargain! : )
