Kaiser says Southern Rio a buy on Winspear success Southern Rio Resources Ltd SNZ Shares issued 8,396,817 Jan 15 close $0.18 Mon 18 Jan 99 In the News John Kaiser, making his recommendations for 1999 in the Dec. 11, 1998 Bottom-Fishing Report, says Chilean explorer Southern Rio is a low-priority buy at 15 cents. Mr. Kaiser recommended the stock in November 1994 (70 cents), November 1995 (48 cents), December 1996 (65 cents), and November 1997 at 25 cents. The San Francisco-based letter writer says under normal circumstances Southern Rio would not be on his buy list, calling it a botched play. The fact that its backers include Winspear's Randy Turner and John McDonald, however, makes him believe the stock could do well in 1999. "It is only natural that they will eventually use their Winspear success to redeem themselves with Southern Rio's long-suffering shareholders," he writes. The company has a working-capital deficit of $200,000. (c) Copyright 1999 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com
