Hunter,
If I remember correctly Arakis had huge reserves and hit a number of large wells on the Helig and Unity fields in the Sudan. The problem was the pipeline, which I believe they needed a billion dollars to construct. They had the oil....but no way to get it to market. The speculation was not over the oil, but that they had found a partner to finance the pipeline. I hope this helps
