So if we vote no, what happens then? Once I owned a company called Syntex that was taken over by Roche and dissenting shareholders had the right to get some preferred stock instead of cash. Will something similar be offered to SHVA's dissenters? Does a simple majority decide if the proposal goes through? And then what are the rights of the dissenters? They can't create two classes of shareholders, those getting $6 and those getting, say, $8. I think that all we could do is block the proposal, maybe force a new offer, maybe drive Intel away for good. But if the current proposal goes through, what can dissenters expect?

Nearly everyone investing in SHVA stock will have to take a loss, so there will be plenty of folks voting against. One thing for sure is this deal really darkens my view of Intel.
