John, I too have had the same problem over the last couple of days. Perhaps it is the volume - 3Com has been the primary stock I have been trading, also. Of the 20+ trades I have made in the last two days, more than half have taken well over a minute, with many taking several minutes. And, yes, these were 'very' marketable (market or wide margin limit) orders. The worst was near yesterday's close - I put in a market order at 3:51 and it was split up; one fill took about 2 minutes, one about 4 minutes, one about 9 minutes, and the rest of the order wasn't filled before the close. My execution on high volume stocks is nowhere near the 3-5 seconds I used to see. The fastest two orders out of that bunch were executed at 29 seconds and 40 seconds. That's right...the fastest two.

I asked Peter what's going on and he said that 95% of all marketable orders are still taking less than 10 seconds.

To Datek's credit, though, I had a problem with the updating in my account yesterday and they were on it FAST.

Also, I should note that if you look in your Daily Activity report and check the "Ent Time" and "Exec Time", you will notice that if the time was greater than one minute they did not charge you the $9.99 transaction fee.

Any other DATEK users having problems?
