The average massive sulfide deposit is 500,000 tons. Very small. Despite that Kidd Creek which is VMS is 200 million tons. Very big. The average sedex deposit is large and consistent grade with simple mineralogy. despite that everyone explores for VMS not SEDEX.

The average epithermal deposit it small. Less than 1,000,000 tons. They are also low grade. But some are very very large. maybe 200 million tons. Hyperthermal narrow vein deposits are much higher grade and many go to 1 million ounces. Some go to more perhaps 50 million ounces (Timmins). Despite that everybody wants to find an epithermal deposit. Basically because they occur in wide late breccia zones that lend themselves to open pit mining and heap leaching.

If it is near surface and wide and large and heap leachable then it will be a good thing. Most flame out. Wait and see.
