I think that MBTI as a concept is great, and they seem to have some notion of what it could be, and they seem to be making the right moves with announcements of pending acquisitions (none consumated - lawyers will be lawyers if that's the real reason).....but, hey, lifeathome.com stinks. My previous posts indicate my read as a successful 30+ year IT development professional - they still don't know how to separate a development environment from a production computing environment. Simple as that. "lifeathome.com" -- with the 404's, the pulsing graphics, the random layout, the mock pages (when you can find an active one) are all the hallmarks of an alpha site, concept and design (although better, perhaps, than agrimall in a trivial design sense.) Know enough to hide the dirty laundry! Know alpha from beta! Don't know that, you're dead.
Hate to be critical - I am still holding a position - and, again, they have a great idea....
but think - replicating the idea can be much simpler than the portal idea they tout in their business plan. Competition in their auction environment, even without (despite?)their thin broker network, is very, very possible. Competitors? None. Wow, even better. Build the simplest net machine possible, targeted like a smart bomb -- and they will come.
Heck, I'm sick of complaining. What a great idea with such lousy execution. Anyone in with me on a competitive site? Post the stuff (even with lousy pictures) and strip a commission (heck, even a simple posting fee - remember, keep the overhead low.) Sell the collateral pixels. Hook to everything that matters to the farmer. LETS DO IT! |
