Is it possible to surf the net with a 12" laptop screen? Are you going to be doing a lot of horizontal scrolling to see the whole page? She's pretty set on the Toshiba--says it's too much money for the Dell. Toshiba is $1400 with PI 266MB, 64MB, 4.3GB, 24X, 2MB Video, 56K V.90. I don't think she'd really need any more than this--it's just the small screen which also has a max resolution of only 800X600, and it's the dual-scan type which is supposed to be not as sharp as the TFT active matrix type.

Thanks for the Dell vote. Too bad they don't put the big screen on a lower level model.

Maybe I win the lottery tomorrow and it won't won't matter <g>.
