I doubt it because the primary reason OMPT received the NY City license from the FCC for free (pioneers preference) is because of their IS-661 proprietary technology that integrates fixed wireless with mobile wireless. So, I do not know how the regulators (FCC) would react to OMPT selling off the mobile network it received for free to one investor and selling off the technology portion (which allowed OMPT to get the license for free) to another investor such as ERICY. My guess is that the whole company would have to be sold entirely and the I really do not know how anyone would place a value on OMPT technologies. OMPT technologies is working on some pretty cool stuff-but with WCDMA around the corner and their current focus exclusively on mobile GSM network-I'm not quite sure how practical their technology is except for engineer admiration.

But I think you raise an interesting point which is worth lots more investigation than my superficial analysis. If others have insights-please comment.
