Michael: Check out Bloomberg. There is a story tonight discussing how the Vodaphone Airtouch merger will step up the demand for a universal wireless standard. This merger is doing 2 great things for QCOM as a CDMA equipment provider. One, it is maintaining more competition in the US market for CDMA service providers. I'd rather see BEL, FON, & VOD/ATI dividing the CDMA cellular market rather than just BEL and FON. I would rather sell to 3 powerhouses rather than 2 - it just makes more sense. Also, it will motivate BEL & GTE to focus on their synergy to make their wireless venture competitive.

Two, it is opening the door for greater placement of QCOM products in Europe when the standard for GSM core network CDMA air interface products are introduced into Europe.

With ATI set to open up another 10 pts in the morning, I think we shall see another strong day for the wireless players. Whaddya think?
