Make sure you look into the washsale rule:

If you rebuy before 31 days, you cant deduct that loss, only roll
that amt. into the cost basis of the new buy.
You relaize the loss at the last sale that doesnt have a repurchase 31 days after. Make sure you dont rebuy in Jan , or youll have to
wait another year to deduct that loss!

There probably a taxes thread somewhere here
