Rick: Yes, Pivanex is pivalyoxymethyl-buterate, the same ester type (read pro-drug chemical modification) which GILD used in their NRTI for AIDS therapy. This modification first protect body from buteric acid toxicity and by >100 fold increased drug bioaveability (cells uptake, also valid for cancer cells). By now their PII trials should be at half of the first PII phase. Most interesting is that TTP is running very large PII trials (200 pts), so this trial may be pivotal and sufficient for FDA file, if significantly positive. To bad that TTP didn't disclose bit more data on trials protocol and end-points condition. Miljenko
