SAN DIEGO and NAMPA, Idaho--Jan. 18, 1999--Micron Electronics
(NASDAQ:MUEI) today announced that it has been selected as the
official hardware supplier for David Coursey's Showcase '99, an annual
conference for the 'technology elite' of the high-tech industry.
Showcase is produced by David Coursey in conjunction with UPSIDE
Magazine. The conference, held January 17-19 at the Sheraton San Diego
Hotel and Marina, is expected to attract more than 750 top executives,
industry analysts, venture capitalists and media from the
high-technology industry.
As the official hardware supplier, Micron Electronics, Inc. will
supply Micron Millennia desktop systems and Micron Transport Trek 2
laptop systems for use throughout the conference. Each of the systems
will be fully configured and loaded with popular software, including
Micron's new online educational and training resource -- Micron
University. A one year subscription to Micron University (introduced
in November 1998) ships free of charge with all new Micron personal
computers and offers hundreds of online, instructor-led courses as
well as technology and business seminars and web-based community
resources.
Each attendee at the conference will receive a personalized
Micron University I.D. card, password, and 'free tuition' to Micron U
for one year, enabling them to explore the online university and test
drive a Micron computer at the show.
