Mowa et al,

I had the same problem. In the Windows98 manual (p75) it states that "The multiple monitor feature supports only PCI adapters at this time." I tried my stock STB 128 card with a newly purchased PCI card and got the same error you mentioned. I contacted customer support and received the same answer. I therefore returned the new card.

Now I've just received my second "trading" PC and added two PCI cards (ATI Xpert98). It should be noted that ATI says their cards can be run concurrently with an AGP card. The new flat panels arrive today and I will try the AGP card in conjunction shortly. I hope to drive an older 15" monitor (because I already had it) from the AGP slot and the two flat panels from the two PCI slots. If this doesn't work, I will add another PCI card until Microsoft gets its act together.

If anyone is running a multiple monitor setup using an AGP card AND PCI cards in Windows98, please advise.

Thanks.

Gary
