If I can't answer your chemistry questions, I have associates who can. Gold and Platinum can not form compounds which can't be fire assayed. Enough heat will always break down any chemical bond and release gold or platiunum. When someone tells me that you have to know special techniques to sample these special dirts or sands, I don't believe them. Also, some of the techniques like xray difraction and atomic absorbtion don't work too well on platinum because iron which is almost always present causes interference.

I have not read any reports by BD. I have only read what IPMF says that BD says. I have worked with enough big famous firms to be suspect of them. They have to be closely monitored and directed and even then they will often only repeat what the client told them to begin with.

Hope this helps
