Does Iomega still have the core group of engineering talent that it always has had?

Jock,

I honestly don't know....it wouldn't surprise me. I can tell you this though, the guy (genious) who invented the Zip drive is still there! Can't recall his name...I think it's Henry "something" or other.

Some mistakenly think getting "floppy" media to spin as fast as Zip disks do (as I understand it, causing a "bernoulli" effect), and at the same time yielding reliability and stability, is an easy thing to engineer. They obviously have no appreciation for or any understanding of this "fad" technology (as David Rocker likes to call it) whatsoever. It took real vision to invent the technology....flying heads (they don't touch the surface like regular floppy drive heads) and all!

That's why I just had to take the swipe I did in my little chronicle at the spit monster/idiot Dan Dorfman who was on CNBC espousing that Zip drives were "old technology". I'll never forget the day he said that....and assumed he was a lackey for the shorts from then on. I could just picture the puppeteer behind the curtain manipulating him while he made all his pronouncements.

Dave
