I figure that modem makers see heavy competition - just like traditional modem makers. The manufacturers of the chips that go into the modem don't have the same big crowd, though I admit that could change very quickly. BRCM is the clear leader and is making 30% margin on their products. My bet is with BRCM rather than a box maker.
