You have said so many things I disagree with, I hardly know where to start. Let me hit on some of the main ones:

1) Sun wouldn't even pay $25 for AAPL, so certainly wouldn't pay $28 for Novell, which is nowhere close to AAPL in sales/sh, cash flow/sh, or book value/sh.

2) Solaris, and the technology it represents, including the networking, could (and probably will) have NetWare for breakfast.

3) SUNW is well on its way towards $100/sh. Whether or not the plans are to reach that level solely on the basis of internal growth, I doubt Novell will play a role.

3) HWP is among the foremost companies in the world for leadership and track record, including in the area of software. Contrast that with Novell, which has bungled one deal after another, never seeming to know what it wants to be.

4) Whether or not HWP has articulated its strategy to you, it's clear they have one and are executing it masterfully.

Just my (not so humble) opinion.
