Thank you, David, for your thoughtful reply. I'm thinking now that Exxon may be a better buy in that they own 2/3 IMO, so you get most of their oil sands with more an international exposure.

I know what you mean about dead conservative--those are good stocks that let you sleep well. I own BCE, GTE, etc. As for barn burners, I've got my wings clipped lately. We're in for a choppy year.
