Zacks Update

As mentioned the Paine Webber numbers from CWEI were from the model--here is the actual Paine Webber estimate---received from Zacks this evening:

>>>>> ESTIMATE REVISIONS:

CWEI: PAINE WEBBER decreased estimate for fiscal year ending
12/97 from $1.74 to $1.25 on 01/27/97
CWEI: PAINE WEBBER increased estimate for fiscal year ending
12/96 from $1.30 to $1.78 on 01/27/97
CWEI: PAINE WEBBER increased estimate for quarter ending 12/96
from $0.50 to $0.64 on 01/27/97 <<<<<<<

so it appears that Paine Webber shaved 0.05 from the model for both the fourth quarter and for the year, but $1.78 still looks much better than the $1.30, and 0.64 is better than 0.50. Zacks has now corrected the numbers--I am wondering if the market will react, or has already reacted. Here is the original post regarding the Paine Webber estimate:

Again I add that CWEI's management was comfortable with the 0.69 earnings estimate--I feel very confident they will beat that number.
