I can not believe this story did not generate a single response !?
While shut ins technically bode well for a lower supply/production base; and in turn are bullish for future crude oil prices - this is sickening news for a multitude of reasons.
One of Americas great Industries which also directly affects Americas National Security is being directly affected. I can not believe that Bill Richardson and the DOE have not come up with a crisis intervention policy. Time is of essence here; the proposed trial balloons are not what is needed; neither is the US allowing Iraq (the Worlds Swing Producer) in the midst of a historic Oil Crisis to ''pump at will'' to raise $ that will NOT go to the Iraqi people, but will be skimmed of by Saddam for his own personal gain, or to be directed into a continued Military build up. We are willing to ''throw away'' money, and potentially US Servicemens lives - to ''Wag the Dog'' in what was apparently the most mindless, directionless, goal deficient and unproductive Military action in US history; but - we are not willing to save a National Treasure; our domestic Independant Oil Industry... nope, not a dime for our citizens; but once again, Millions of $, or even Billions of $ for foreign ''political'' aide where even pennies on the dollar have virtually no chance of trickling down to their desired targets.... sad, very sad. We are literally addressing the ''imagined'' Oil Production needs of Iraq, ahead of our own glaring domestic Oil Industry crisis - simply unbelieveable !
What ever happened to the saying - ''Charity begins at home'' ? Have we lost all common sense in America ? We send Millions of $ Globally, but have starving homeless people rampant in our streets, and collapsing Industries where we are willing to lay the final straw upon the back of our own people, in our most strategically important industry, in order to appear to be Internationally Politically correct... utterly pathetic. We are not too far away from the day, when the majority of our citizens will no longer be proud to be Americans. I can not believe that the people of America sit idley by as events like this unfold. Why isn't the public screaming from the top of their lungs - about Iraq ? What did we just go through ? What were we trying to accomplish ? We all ready knew Iraq had an ongoing chemical weapons program. We found the proof, additional inspections were not needed; action was needed. So we destroyed some minor supply and production facilities. But, now we are going to allow Iraq to pump all the Oil they want in order to raise more money to replenish and rebuild their weapons programs that we just sent our people into harms way to ''destroy'' ? Did anyone kind of wonder why the Iraqi people were going about business as usual all during our latest Military Action ? Not only do they NOT fear our ''big stick'' any longer, they also know this 'ole Dog is all Bark and no Bite, with Clinton at the helm. What the hell is wrong with this picture and why aren't Americans screaming for Clinton's resignation on this issue ? |
