I didn't necessarily mean T or AOL specifically. I was referring to someone of substantial size and recourses without ISP experience. For instance, lets say a National Cable provider. Do you really think a cable company could actually muster the know-how, to successfully manage a customer support intensive enterprise such as a ISP. They can barely keep their cable online 5 day a week. You can never talk to anyone when your service is out. They need experienced talented technology savvy support services to survive.
Not to mention, the potential 1,000,000 ISP subscribers, and the thousands of web hosting customers. Remember DSL is only the pipe,
not the package as we now know it.

I was simply speculating on the possibilities. I don't have all the answers. I may even be completely wrong in my views. But, since you asked I voiced my opinions and thoughts.

That's what I like about SI. The exchange of ideas.
