It seems those worried about Y2K are far more concerned about *when* customers will buy MSFT products rather than *if* they will buy them. This, to me, is wrong-headed. Even if Y2K reduces demand short term, it is by postponing purchases, not by eliminating them. I suggest that buying and holding for a mere 2 years makes the whole thing a non-issue.

In my experience, timing the market is a zero sum game, not investing but speculation. I've held MSFT for 8 years now and think I understand the company pretty well. However, I still can't say with any confidence at all what the stock will do tomorrow or 3 months from now, and had I tried would have missed a fair portion of my profits. However, I believed and still believe that on a 10 year time-frame MSFT is a very sound and relatively safe investment.

Buy and hold...it works, people. It makes you rich. It leaves you relaxed. Highly recommended.

OK, end of sermon. Amen.
