IBM 4Q Seen At Least Several Cents Above $2.45/Shr View

NEW YORK -- Analysts expect International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) to beat Wall Street's consensus fourth-quarter earnings estimate by at least several cents, buoyed by its performance in its services and mainframe businesses, and aided by the weaker dollar.

The First Call Corp. consensus estimate is that IBM earned $2.45 a share in its fourth quarter ended Dec. 31. The company earned $2.11 a share in the year-ago period.

IBM is slated to report earnings Thursday after the market's close.
