This was the rumor

GMGC & Microsoft Magic

Microsoft (MSFT) announced blowout earnings yesterday coming in with 73 cents per share and topped the First Call estimate of 61 cents quite handily. The stock rocketed $5 7/8 promptly to end the day at $155 5/8. Now, some else seems to be in the offing. StreetQ has learned that Microsoft may be giving General Magic (GMGC) THE EYE. General Magic makes product solutions for mobile professionals. Its latest bomb was a PDA product which didn't sell very well. In spite of this, GMGC is a seasoned player in the PDA market and the acquisition of GMGC by MSFT would make a lot of sense, given MSFT's desire to dominate the PDA OS market with Windows CE. (FYI, GMGC created Magic Cap, one of the first mobile PDA operating systems.) GMGC closed at $6 9/32 on Tuesday, up 11/32 or 5.79%. 1/19/99

I agree about PSIX - looking very good
