Did you ever hear the story about Bill Gates' first meeting with John Roach when they were looking for a Basic interpreter for the TRS-80? His father had gone over his plan for the negotiations with him in detail and he felt prepared and confident. He entered the meeting room with Roach chewing a cigar at the other end of a long table. Roach asked him his price, which he provided and Roach immediately responded with a loud, defiant claim of "Bullshit!".

Gates said he was taken aback, as he had not planned for this response.
