Okay, I was going to leave this one alone, but since it's stirred up so much discussion.....
Richardson, isn't exactly "Cowboy Country." It's pretty much Suburbia, USA sprinkled with a fair amount of high-tech industry.
That said, I agree that 3Dfx management should let the STB folks maintain the status quo with existing relationships with the box makers. However, I think this not because they do business differently from a cultural standpoint, but because they do business differently from a business standpoint. STB has been dealing with box makers for years, and the business relationships that have developed over those years are not something that 3Dfx should come in try to change right away, assuming they even have any intention to at all.
