Gateway Names Tom Fisher Vice President of Global IT Architecture

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 1999--Gateway (NYSE: GTW) today announced that Tom Fisher has been named vice president of Global IT Architecture. Mr. Fisher will report to Maynard Webb, senior vice president and chief information officer and will be responsible worldwide for application architecture, standards and processes.

"The world of information technology continues to accelerate, and Tom will help lead and manage that growth by implementing information technology processes vital to our business and critical to insuring effective client, supplier and customer relations," said Maynard Webb. "Tom and his experience in managing complex systems, information architecture and new business development will be a powerful resource to Gateway."

Mr. Fisher was most recently a principal with Whittman-Hart, Inc., in Atlanta, Ga. where his responsibilities included managing, evaluating and selecting emerging technologies for clients. Previously, he served as executive vice president, Business Development, for Exactium, Inc., where he established and ran the early U.S. operation, raised venture capital, developed and directed the OEM distribution strategy as well as strategic alliances. Mr. Fisher was also Director of Technology at KnowledgeWare, Inc. Mr. Fisher also held senior management positions at International Business Machines Corporation in business development and information architecture.
