I just bought a Jan 2001 LEAP Strike: 100 Price for $ 25 US this morning. Jean, your Jan 2001 100 call looks fine to me. Right now, you can expect it to go up about .6 points for every point rise in the stock. The bid is already at 26. Watch it over the days ahead and calculate your percentage gain and compare it to the percentage gain for the same dollar amount of stock. You will do better with the call. The Jan 2001 calls are pretty conservative. If you had bought the Feb 100 calls, it would be a different (very risky) story. BTW, all of my investments in Dell are calls, mostly LEAPS; no stock.
