TA: Thanks for playing back Al's comments... and I'm glad they spared the internet stocks (and stock valuations in general). I also have appreciated your comments on this thread on various issues (I couldn't agree more on most of them).

I agree with you about the internet in general -- although in many ways, it is bigger than the PC... I guess the analogy that I would use is: the PC is to the internet as the automobile was to many facets of modern 20th century life -- once the automobile was moving into mass production, it drove the building of infrastructure and everything connected to the "enabling and empowering technology" that was the car. Out of that came roads, towns, remote manufacturing, new distribution systems, new forms of shopping and a remodeling of the landscape -- and this is what the internet represents relative tot he PC. AOL is certainly in the cat-bird seat for now -- I only regret having made such a small initial commitment although I timed it well (about a month or two after the IPO).
