NUINSCO HITS SULPHIDES AT LAC ROCHER QUEBEC
TORONTO, ONTARIO--
Nuinsco announced today that diamond drill hole #99-1, on the Company's 100% owned property near Lac Rocher, NW Quebec, has intersected a significant interval of massive sulphide mineralization at the base of a disseminated nickel/copper sulphide zone.
The drill hole intersected an elliptical, layered mafic intrusive structure over a total core length of approximately 250 feet. The Company's consulting geologist reports mineralization occurs as disseminated sulphides, ranging from 5% to 100% with sub-massive and sections of massive sulphides. Splitting and logging of hole LR 99-1 is underway and assays will be made public as soon as they are available. From previous drilling of the target zone early in 1998, marketable minerals expected in the hole are comprised principally of nickel, copper and cobalt.
The Lac Rocher property is located about 120 km northeast of Mattagami, Quebec. The current drill program is designed to assess two ground electro-magnetic anomalies identified early in 1998. In 1998, a diamond drilling program tested a ground IP anomaly, 50 meters north of the current hole producing long widths of disseminated sulphides carrying sub-ore grade nickel-copper mineralization. The current drilling suggests mineralization is improving considerably to the south and to depth.
The diamond drill is testing the second unrelated geophysical target half a kilometer away.
