To Scrapps & All-- re: PILOT from today's WSJ pg B8 "Watching the Web"
In a section called THE PILOT ORGANIZER there were three items:
THE PILOT LIGHT Playing around with one of those Pilot electronic organizers, perhaps one received as a holiday gift? Thomas R. Karlo, a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has created a worthwhile site, where devotees of the pocket-sized gadgets can keep informed on new software and accessories. Mr. Karlo's latest project: asking retailers to submit periodic price checks on different Pilot models. the-tech.mit.edu
SCOTT'S PILOT PAGE Though updates of this site are infrequent, the "Frequently Asked Questions" sections includes a lengthy list of companies developing add-in software. Pilot owners can check the list for information on adding e-mail and other functions, and then jump directly to the software maker's sites. pilot.org
U.S. ROBOTICS The company that created Pilot offers a catalog of accessories at its site (handy if you lose the stylus needed to scrawl on the Pilot's screen), though there isn't any on-line ordering; customers are directed to a toll-free number. Under "Customer Support", U.S. Robotics provides hints on typical Pilot tasks, such as moving files from a PC onto the device. usr.com
