"high crime"

This term has been bantered about by folks who don't even bother to define it in its historical context. They assume it refers to the severity of the crime. That's false. The term "high crime" comes from the English and refers to the person committing the crime, not the severity of it. That is, people in high places cannot commit crimes on people in "low" places and get away with it - until Clinton.

The effects of Clinton getting off due to his democratic senate syncophants will not be good for the country. Yes, he will get off and we'll see negative consequences going forward. What the dems are saying is that the prez is above the law. One can whine about the Republicans as long as you want but that's a smokescreen for facing the truth: Clinton broke laws that you and I could not get away with. In an attempt to save their party, the dems are destroying our rule of law with the ignorant support of the average citizen. The rule of law is being replaced by the rule of situational ethics. Our country has sunk to a new moral low.
