PLMD Alert:
I no longer hold any stock in PolyMedica, but I thought I would share this bit of information with the long term holders of the stock. As most of you know, their main source of revenue is the Medicare reimbursement for the diabetic/glucose test strips which involves pricking the finger for a blood sample.

A small blurb in this week's BusinessWeek(page 105)should give pause to the long term reliance that PLMD has on this market. NEC Corp., the huge Japanese concern has developed a product that will be on their market later this year. I think it safe to assume that it will migrate to this country in short order.

What NEC has developed is a new urine test that can give accurate results in just 10 seconds. What the long term implications will be to PLMD is for each to decide. However, when diabetics are given the option of the urine sample to the blood sample....which would you take?

I wish PLMD investors the best and just thought I would share this bit of information.
