Can you, or anyone, help explain just how and why this scenario works. I have people asking me, but I guess I don't understand it enough myself, so can't give them proper answers.

Someone buys 1000 shares at the ask of .562 - a market order, right?

Someone buys 5000 shares at .50 - a limit order, right?

Then two 200 share lots at .375 at the bid. Now are we to assume that this is an MM selling his shares to ???, what another MM, at a low bid of .375, and the idea behind this is to scare people into dumping their shares down at that bid?
