Darrell,

Thank you for your post (as always)!

In regards to your comment:

"So, please don't put Dr. Thomas in a position of striking a deal for the sake of saying I met my commitment"

I think it is important to point out that Dr. Thomas put himself in that position, not me. It is Dr. Thomas who has set the expectation for a buyin/buyout in a January to early Feb. timeframe. As a shareholder, I am only holding him accountable for the execution that he put forth.

And because Dr. Thomas and his management team are much smarter than me, I continue to trust their judgment in this matter.

I keep asking myself "Why has ABTX been so specific about the timeline and the potential valuations for this strategy?" I think (or perhaps hope) that the answer is that this is basically a done deal except for the formalities (otherwise, why would you set yourself up to disappoint shareholders and WS?).

The only push back I have seen from ABTX on this issue for the last 4 months was to potentially back up the buyin/buyout to early Feb. rather than late Jan. due to the holidays.

In closing, there was a detailed article written on 12/24/98 (an interview with John Francis) in a local Oregon newspaper that reinforced the deal (and timetable) was alive and well. Sorry, I don't have the link, but it was on an earlier post on SI and very positive (from you Darrell?).

Good Luck all !
