I am living proof that this happens. A year ago I owned DLGC, I had a stop loss at $24 (it was at $28). THE day before earnings were to be released, the stock dropped to $23.5, enough to take me out. Within the next 3MONTHS, the stock hit a new high, practically everyday, and went as high as $46. I WILL NEVER PUT A STOP LOSS ON ANOTHER STOCK AGAIN.

I learned my lesson, and I believe what the Yahoo poster claims is extremely true.
