I hate to say it because this sector has been good to me over the years, but the O & G sector looks like it will have another bleak year in 1999. The cold weather had absolutely no impact on the price of oil or gas and now it's beginning to warm up. If we don't get a turnaround in prices soon, many companies will be in dire shape. It's starting to remind me of that period in the early 90s after the Gulf War, when a lot of companies had to writedown their reserves and many others were forced to restructure. How many of these companies will be saved by mergers?
