I think HDIE has followed a rather orderly move up. On strong days it opens high, hits its peak at around 10am, moves rapidly to a low, then recovers before the close.

I think that holding a core position that rides is a good strategy here. I think it is prudent to play defense, selling 1/4 of the holdings at this rhymic top on up days, and buying back at the bottom.
It is both a hedge, assuming you can pick the top, and an opportunity to increase the core position by buying back.

This isn't the old HDIE. Looking at the chart, shows higher volume, large block trades. Institutions are coming in here, and that has smoothed out the downside. The daytraders can be detected but the institutions have added stability.

Your trade yesterday almost mirrored mine. You did better, and I'm jealous ;). I also bought back in and added more.
