Interesting deal: Obviously the phone card business for SmarTalk isn't that lucrative... SmarTalk and 19 affiliates filed for Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court $10M is a drop in the bucket for AT&T. Wonder what value they see in the company? Customer list? Card manufacturing / processing assets? Does AT&T not currently have any prepaid card services? One would need to understand the AT&T strategy here to see if there are any benefits to TSIS. I'll phone the CEO of AT&T tomorrow and ask him if he knows what the hell he's doing! jmt
