Tom,
There are many reasons why xDSL is not available widely. There are problems with standards (though I believe that is closer to getting ironed out), problems with line quality (you need to be within a certain proximity of the telco central office to get the high speeds), problems with cost (it's expensive, relative to cable modem, for example), problems with the ability of the RBOC's to support broad rollouts (though that is improving...I guess). But - as others stated, MFNX is more like the fast lane of the super-highway where xDSL is your driveway. You know what's worse than you not understanding the company and buying it? It's me understanding it and not buying it. I've been waiting for a pullback...and kicking myself daily for not getting in. At these levels I almost feel like I'd be chasing it but some here seem to think it could go a lot higher. This company is run by John Kluge and Stuart Subotnick. I own a bunch of Metromedia International Group which has been languishing (until recently) while MFNX has been going like the Energizer bunny. Hopefully that one will start acting like this one, someday.
