Yikes!! Someone actually posted something. Now there's an omen. I think it's actually a very exciting story. I have absolutely no clue as to how the market will react initially but if it can get by the initial knee jerk caused by the news that company probably won't get back on its usual profitability track for 6 months, this is a very smart way to go. First of all, its realistic. The future isn't in hardware for ASPT and I think that the market knows it. As JC said, the company has been "laying tracks in this direction" (software)for a long time. They have proven that they can execute. With the future acquisition of a marketing oriented executive, who will doubtless be top notch, we'll see what they can become in the software biz. Also good to know that the company bought back 2M shares for a total of 32M dollars and may well buy back more into any weakness in price. Actually, it wouldn't be a bad thing to see them support the stock price tomorrow on the open with a little strategic buying. Just to get people thinking that maybe this isn't such a bad deal after all. Also, the trend toward "voice over data" by companies like Cisco may result in some pretty interesting "patnerships." JC said that ASPT has a software solution ready to go when the time comes. They have apparently been working on it for awhile.
