The relationships these ventures form early will last far into the future, so that justifies $B. The portal component of go2net is on a lower scale than yahoo, lycos, seek or xcit but it is the rising star, with about 5 million users. Applying a per user multiplier justifies $B. The other properties have a lot of potential value if Go2Net delivers on the strategy of targeting content for niche communities. Maybe miningco.com's approach of 'web guides' could help deliver targeted resources that a 'plain vanilla' portal lacks. I'm sure people would volunteer to reach an audience of 5 million! Bill
