Well *I* for one find this a fascinating and worthwhile inquiry. I appreciate the quality of input this has drawn in, and am duly impressed by everyone, in particular, Bow's detailed handle on these issues.
Respectfully, I still find the arguments weighing in Bow's direction, and personally would enjoy getting to the bottom... I know Bow would acquiesce in a second if he was persuaded to the reasonableness of a no-collusion explanation.
I hope WW, Zorro and transmission will continue to participate in this discussion. I knew a fair amount about WCII and the telco landscape prior to this discussion, but I feel I am learning something valuable in every post on this subject so far.
In any case, don't expect to hear much of anything from WCII until the offering is completed in early/mid Feb. Numbers out after that, and earnings after that. The roadshow is going on in NY this week - SSB and CSFB NY institutional sales heard the story. Some institutional one-on-ones, rest of East coast, then west coast - winding up in midwest prior to offering. I don't have an account at JP, but will see where I might find a copy of the report (anyone else have access?)
New sponsorship appears to keep rolling in. The story has some real legs, and I forsee the likelihood of retiring the heavy 14% paper sometime soon (and presumably with it, a significant % of the current short interest). I can't imagine how in the year of bandwidth and the attention on the local loop bottleneck, anyone would want to be short. And with more telco consolidation, seems there are less risky ways to make a buck. T minus 28. |
