Did you know that the Chief Justice of the United States does not have to be a lawyer? Right. My booklet copy of the Constitution is at work in my desk so I can't check right now, but I believe the only qualifications to be a SC Justice are citizenship, maybe age, and ratification by the Senate. I believe that this is also true of all Federal Judges.
