Here is more on the YPF/Reposol.... biz.yahoo.com And then..... A story about a merger of YPF with Petrobras (Brazilian Oil company, after Petrobras is privatized. Message 7393850 (note the link there, unfortunately it is in Spanish only.) It is a last minute proposal from the opposition leader to merge with Petrobras, with the intent of stopping the sale of the 15 % of YPF As Tom points out, it seems that Argentineans do not want to lose control of YPF... gets interesting.
