guess we'll see. That has not been Easy Al's track record when confronted w/ a slowdown. Bias for the world is an easing of rates and has been since the Summer of '98. Bias will continue to be so as nations of the world attempt to print their way out of deflation. Unfortunately, you run into the problem of pushing on a string. They will fail. This is of course bullish for gold.

As for the DXY, I think you have been looking at it upside-down -g-. Chart shows a nice downtrend to me. I see nothing to break that trend anytime soon. In fact, it should accelerate as the bond and stock mkts fall apart.
