Mary, Nope. I have some long calls now on decent stocks. It is against my religion to buy calls on stinko companies that are overvalued even if I think they may have a pop for no reason. That would be betting against my research, something you scoff at but which companies have paid me big bucks for in the past. I'll just wait for the big move on rationality.

However, I have played Dell in a spread conversion, very well, thank you. But there I am well protected for when it tears a hole in its safety net during the fall.

What you are talking about is not investing. It is gambling. I am a gambler, but, to use another of your terms, not with serious money. My gambling money does much better on the ponies. Yes, the trainers, owners and jockeys may be bent now and then, but, on a whole, they are much more honest than corporate honchos. <G>
