News Release
Mr Erik Dysthe reports
The company has signed a contract with Convergent Group Corp of Denver,
Colorado, to install MDSI's utility mobile workforce management system at IES
Industries of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. When implemented, MDSI's system will
automate up to 250 mobile field service representatives.
Managed by Convergent Group Corp, a leading consultant to the utility industry,
the IES project will include a fully integrated suite of applications that will manage
the mobile workforce including work and outage management and
computer-aided dispatch. MDSI's software will reside on a Hewlett-Packard
platform and will seamlessly automate IES' Rapid Response.
MDSI's workforce management solution will include the Mobile Pen Application
and Order Scheduling System, the latest version of Map-based Dispatching
software, and an interface to IES Industries' existing customer information system.
Using a public data over radio network, IES dispatchers will send field service
representatives work order information and in turn field service representatives
with mobile computers will be able to exchange work order and status information
in real-time with dispatchers and customer information databases.
