You make a massive assumption when deducing that a GSM operator would want to go to a cdmaOne overlay. An assumption that I don't really know the answer, but will pose a question.

Does a cdmaOne overlay make the GSM system redundant?

If so, then that means all the poor customers would have to dump their phones for new ones. If this is the case then there is no way in hell that they would go this route, particularly when you take the GSM penetration figures in to account.

Agree in general with Rodolse (quite astute) and some of your points on Yahoo, but the question above is the decider.
